| Decks cleared for Sapolia's re-entry into BJP | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 10: The decks have been cleared for the joining of expelled BJP MLA, Jagdish Raj Sapolia into Party fold following his agreement to support the Party and campaign for it in ensuing Lok Sabha elections. Following an understanding with the party leaders in the State who also arranged the telephonic conversation of Sapolia with senior Party leaders in New Delhi, Sapolia is set to join the Party at any time in this month as he has shown total faith in the leadership of Narendra Modi saying that nation needs a strong leader like him at this time. According to party sources, BJP MP and incharge J&K Avinash Roy Khanna who is camping in State at present also had a telephonic conversation with Sapolia and assured him that the BJP will take him back into party fold as the High Command has already taken a decision in this regard. Sapolia earlier had met the BJP organizational general secretary, Ashok Koul and discussed all the pros and cons of his joining the Party. The former assured him that the Party will arrange a programme in this month only to take him back into the Party fold. He appealed Sapolia to campaign for BJP candidate especially in Kathua, Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency to which the MLA agreed. It may be recalled that out of seven expelled MLAs including the then BJP Legislative Party leader Prof Chaman Lal Gupta and five MLAs were taken back into Party fold in January this year while the party had decided to take the decision on Prof Gupta's and Sapolia's re-entry later. However, with Sapolia also building bridges with party leadership, indications of his joining party at any moment in near future are ripe, the BJP sources are tight lipped over the re-entry of Prof Gupta into the party. Moreover, with the floating of new Party by Prof Gupta's son and his announcement to contest the Lok Sabha elections on his own Party ticket has been a stumbling block in his re-entry into the Party which otherwise the BJP High Command has also in principle agreed to, sources said. |
