Kathua, May 23 : Residents of Ward of no 17 today held demonstration against Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) for non-supply of ration. The protestors led by BJYM leader Raj Kumar and Asha Rani shouted slogans against the ration dealer and CAPD officials. Speaking on the occasion both leaders said that outlet opened by the CAPD in ward number 17 was bagged by the dealer for his personal use and the people were forced to remain quite for not asking about the ration. "The dealer is not only harassing the consumers but also threatened not to come at depot for seeking ration", they said, adding that it was a criminal act which was frequently being committed by the dealer with a motive to carry and continue the practices of ration black marketing. "The department has already been informed about the problems many times but no action has been taken. The state government as well as CAPD has failed to provide ration to the people," they said, alleging that the government has also failed to curb corrupt in state. |
