Jammu, May 23 : College Teacher Association (CTA) today condemned attack on Prof Bashir Ahmad Bhat presently posted at GDC Doda.
According to press release, meeting of the CTA Jammu wing was called by its president, Dr Sanjay Verma to take stock of the unruly incident that took place with one of their college prof. Bashir Ahmad Bhat. The Association unanimously condemned the incident in which the professor was manhandled, abused and threatened with dire consequences by the parents of a student who was taking examination in the center in which Prof Bashir Ahmad Bhat was the superintendent.
The professor was threatened that he would be eliminated if he did not allow the student to copy in the examination. The Association demands an immediate action by the authorities against the culprit and also action on the FIR lodged by the professor, so that the culprit is taken into custody and the professor feel free to perform his examination duties without any fear and threat, failing which the association will be forced to take some extreme steps so that the dignity of teaching community is restored. The meeting was attended by Prof MS Saini, Dr Anil Ganju, Prof Narayan Dutt Sharma, Dr Manhore Lal and Prof D S Manhas. |
