Basohli, May 23: Deputation of the senior citizens of the Basohli called on Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kathua to apprise him regarding the deplorable condition of the Community Health Centre (CHC) Basohli. The deputation of prominent citizens apprised CHO Kathua regarding the acute shortage of the doctors/ surgeons especially gynecologist, physician, pediatrician ENT and ophthalmic surgeons in the CHC as if fully equipped it could easily cater need of lakhs of people living in entire Basohli, Billawer, Mahanpur and Bani tehsils in the event of any calamity. Citing various incidents, the deputationists said that number of the accidental and delivery cases have suffered complications even breathed their last on the way during their referral to nearby premier hospital. CMO Kathua was requested to concede to their demands at earliest so that better health care can be made available in the remote area. CMO was warned to help make the CHC Basohli fuctional at very first instance or the locals will be forced to opt agitational path. Earlier the deputation was kept waiting for a long time and CMO was contacted at 4.45 pm that too on the road outside the hospital. |
