Jammu, May 23: Police today arrested four gamblers and recovered Rs 3450/- from their possession during a raid conducted in RS Pura to put a curb on social evils like gambling and drug peddling.
The arrested gamblers has been identified namely as Ashwani Kumar and Ajeet Kumar both from W- 10 R S Pura, Kuldeep Kumar of Sunderpur, RS Pura and Sanjeev Kumar of RS Pura.
"On specific information police team raided a secluded place at Chowala Morh, RS Pura and arrested four gamblers, the police sources said, while adding, "police team seized Rs 3450 as stake money and playing card from their possession." All these gamblers were booked under section 13 Gambling Act while further investigations are on in this matter. |
