SAMBA, May 23: Host Samba district clinched the boys' under-14 kho-kho title after they beat Jammu by one turn and four points in the final played at Government Higher Secondary School, Vijaypur, here today. Third place went to district Reasi, who outplayed district Udhampur. Earlier, in the semifinals, Samba defeated district Reasi while district Jammu trounced Udhampur.
In the final and valedictory function, Director General, Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), Navin Agarwal was chief guest, who presented the winning teams with title trophies and medals. Earlier, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Suresh Chander Bhardwaj welcomed the chief guest and other distinguished gathering. Later, Principal of host school, Deva Nand presented vote of thanks. The competition officiated by the technical penal comprising, Ravi Kumar, Ramesh Mishra, Kulvir Singh, Bhupinder Singh, Vinod Sharma, Chander Parkash, P Kumar and Kranti Khajuria. |
