'Team Jammu' distributes woollen clothes to flood, rain affected families | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur/ Reasi, Oct 13: Keeping it endevour to reach out to people in distress across the state following heavy rains/flash floods/landslides in particular to affected people in rmote areas, the Team Jammu -a group of intellectuals, doctors, advocates, journalists and businessmen today reached to the far-flung areas of Udhampur and Reasi districts to provide warm clothes to the people before onset of the winter season. Following recent rains and mudslides, the volunteers and office bearers Team Jammu under social responsibility collected woolen clothing through their own resources and with the help of some philanthropists distributed warm clothing to people left shelter less and without basic amenities. Team Jammu members distributed relief materials including blankets and woollens at various camps Kaarcha, Maalti, Sadhota, Bhadota, Galyout, Kultiar, Maali, Kainth Gali, Pancheri, Latyaar and Laandhar of Reasi and Udhampur districts. The unconditional and timely support of civil administration also helped a lot in Team Jammu's drive for relief distribution in remote areas where people were seen virtually awaiting for relief especially woolen in the wake of winters at hand. Sharing his emotional experience one of the Team Jammu volunteer said, "It was an unique experience to feel human emotional differently as the affected people were seen having a sense of gratitude and thankfulness towards the Team Jammu and this is what one needs as satisfaction and is just like an award to an initiative- which is worth million dollars. "While many remained silent but many gave vent to their ire against various political representatives saying people living in that affected hilly areas alleged that they were left ignored by leaders for who opt vote bank politics but Team Jammu sets an example of brotherhood and oneness, he added. Meanwhile Team Jammu has appealed to the concerned authorities to expedite rehabilitation operation in remote hilly belt keeping in view their miseries that might further exaggerated due to winters at hand. |
