JAMMU, Oct 14: Politics has started taking its role in the death mystery of the girl namely Divya Manhas daughter of Krishan Singh Manhas and for the very purpose a cop is playing the active role to settle the score of his influential relative, making the police's investigation team baffled.
While parents of the girl expressed their suspicion on three boys, one of them is grandson of a politician and two others are sons of influential persons, for their alleged role to inject the intoxicants in the body of the girl which claimed her life, an influential cop is putting the pressure on the investigating officers from different corners to involve the name of one Rohit Kumar. However, the matter reached in the ear of senior police officer and became the subject of whispering.
The three youth on whom parents of the girl raised suspicion were arrested by Channi Himmat Police for indulging in "undesirable activities" with her, last year.
Sources said that Rohit Kumar is the son of a leading businessman of the state and an arch rival of the relative of the cop. The pressure started mounting on police after police prepared the list of 32 suspects who were in close touch with her. Police zeroed in these 32 after going through the Call Details Record (CDR) of the deceased girl.
Sources said that the parents of the deceased girl in their statement told police that their daughter had been left at their residence in sub conscious condition at Matto Colony, Marbel Market in Channi Himmat, late hours by these three youth. Realizing her condition was deteriorating, parents informed Channi Police and accordingly with police's assistance she was rushed to the GMC hospital where she breathed her last. The doctors attending the girl found some injection marks on her arms which suggested that she might have taken drugs and an overdose can be a reason for her death. Sources said that the postmortem of the body of girl was done by four member doctors' board who found four injection marks on the arms of the girl. Police is also waiting for the postmortem report for further investigation.
