Jamola inhabitants flay administration for neglect in relief distribution | | | Early Times Report
RAJOURI, Oct 14: Inhabitants of village Jamola about 5 kilometers from Rajouri city have alleged that district administration has neglected them in the distribution of relief. Mohd Farooq , Mohd Latief and many others said that their houses as well as agricultural lands were damaged in the floods and landslides followed by incessant rains on September 5 to 7. Many of them rendered homeless and were forced to take shelter in the open or in the tents provided by army units. Even after a gap of more than one month many people are living in the tents or with their relatives and no official from the administration visited them with any relief or other help. In this connection they held a protest on Monday at Jamola and appealed to the district administration to visit them and provide necessary relief/ compensation. They also warned that if the administration failed to provide them relief soon they will hold protest demonstration before the office of Deputy Commissioner and other officials at Rajouri. Nodal Officer and Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) said that the administration has provided every possible (available ) help to the victims of flood furry and if anybody was left he/ they can approach the district administration for relief or any other help. Meanwhile inhabitants of Iran Khetar under the jurisdiction of Rajouri police station have held a protest against the officials of Power Development Department and alleged that most of the time electricity remains off in their area. |
