Jammu, Oct 14 : Second Additional Sessions, Judge, M K Sharma rejected the bail application of alleged narco-smugglers -- Laba Ram and Raj Kumar -- who were facing trial in an NDPS case. According to the police case, on June 12, 2012, Laba Ram was found in possession of 1000 capsules of paravasanspas and 37 bottles of corex whereas accused Raj Kumar was found in possession of 6000 capsules. The judge, after hearing both the sides, observed that the accused were carrying these drugs without any lawful authority and for the purpose of illegal sale and there is rigor of section 37 NDPS Act for grant of bail and moreover, in view of the evidence on record, it is difficult to say that there are reasonable grounds for believing that the accused are not guilty of the offences of which they are charged. With these observations, the court dismissed the bail applications. (JNF) |
