Jammu, Oct 14: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) President Subash Shastri today urged upon the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to announce the pending two installments of 17% DA due from January and July last in favor of State Govt. employees and pensioners in cash well before Diwali festival. Addressing a well attended NMC activists rally at Green Belt in Gandhi Nagar, Shastri urged him to take the decision at the next Cabinet meeting as good will gesture ,as the same two installments of DA as have been released by the Central as well as several state governments of the country to their employees and pensioners since long adding that the salaried class was facing lot of hardships due to high inflation and price hike, he said and adding that the early release of due installments of DA would be genuine measure to provide some relief to employees and pensioners in current festivals season. Delay in release of due DA installments would not only put financial burden on the State government exchequer so liquidate the arrears, but also increase the difficulties for the employees and pensioners, he said. Pleading the cause of Casual/seasonal labor ad-hoc and contractual employees working in the various departments of the state Govt. Shastri also demanded early an release of their salary on the eve of Diwali and Vishwakarma day festivals, beside their immediate regularization. Shastri also urged chief Minister to take decisions in this regards at the ensuing meeting of the State Cabinet which is likely to be held this week in Srinagar in the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. Re-organization of the Floriculture Department, convening of departmental promotions committee meeting, change of designation of helpers to gardeners, providing technical grades to gardeners, head gardeners, helpers and others categories of the floriculture department, providing uniforms to gardeners, regularizing the services of ad-hoc employees of the Floriculture Department, promoting gardeners/cum clerks as Junior assistants/senior assistants in the department, releasing of 4th installment of the 6th pay commission arrears beside enhancing medical allowance to rupees one thousand per month were other demands presenting in the rally.Among others who also spoke on the occasion were Ragupaul, Madan Lal, Darshan Bawa, Mohd Shafi, Jentoo Ram, Tilak Raj, Surinder Kumar, T.R.Thappa, Roshan Lal and Sudesh Bhagat. |
