JAMMU, Jan 5: Semifinals position has been cleared with the entry of J&K Forests in the last four stages of the XXIII State Football Championship, organised by J&K Football Association at GGM Science College ground, here today.
Other three sides already placed in the semifinals are Lone Star Kashmir, J&K Bank and District Football Association (DFA), Srinagar.
Now, in the semifinals, scheduled for tomorrow, Lone Star Kashmir shall take on DFA Srinagar while J&K Bank shall be playing against equally good J&K Forests.
Earlier, in the fourth quarterfinal of the tournament, J&K Forests defeated Young Rovers by two goals to nil. Bilal helped the side take first lead netting the goal in the 28th minute. Leading by a goal in the first half, Ashiq improved the tally after the drinks break beating the opponent goal-keeper in the 44th minute. Young Rovers too played well but could not convert a couple of sure goal chances came their way, especially in the second half of the play.
