Cong discusses debacle in Assembly polls | | | Arun Trisal
Early Times Report
Hiranagar, Jan 5: Dozens of Congress party leaders and workers convened a meeting here today under the chairmanship of Pankaj Dogra, acting district president of the party, where they reviewed debacle in the assembly election 2014. The party lost all the five seats in Kathua district. While addressing the party workers, Girdhari Lal Chalotra, ex-MLA Hiranagar, said Congress had fulfilled people’s aspirations and done hard work during its 12 years of coalition rule in J&K. He claimed that development had reached its peak and many avenues of employment were also generated. Chalotra called BJP a one-man party where all other leaders ride on one boat and unable to do anything on their own. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited tehsils and small villages to ensure the victory but 50% rallies got in vain as BJP could not succeed to win 6 seats out of 12 venues of PM’s rallies. He said BJP makes people fool on the name of development and peace. Dogra said BJP could not form government in state as everyone discarded its divisive policy. He asked people to again get ready for elections in the state as coalition government with BJP would not last long. He said “as BJP lacks experienced politicians, they won’t be able to run the government with a Kashmir-based party”. He said people understand that BJP can only do promise but can’t redress their demands. He ensured that Congress would win maximum seats if elections were again held in the state. |
