CBI presents challan against bank manager, others | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 5: (JNF): Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has presented two challans against T R Dogra, then Chief Manager of Bank of Baroda, Jaswant Singh, bank's then Credit Officer Hem Raj Phonsa, Property Valuer Manzoor Hussain and Said Mohammad in a fraud with the bank by obtaining loan fraudulently. According to the CBI case, Manzoor had secured loan from Gandhi Nagar branch of Bank of Baroda for beekeeping in his own name and the names of his family members. For securing huge loans, he had allegedly produced fake documents of land mortgage. During investigations, it became known that such a fraud wouldn't have been possible without the involvement of bank officials as the documents produced by Manzoor were forged and fake. He had kept stamps in his house, which have been seized. He had used the stamps for making fictitious documents of land mortgage to secure the loan. It was further submitted that all the fake documents used in procuring the loans have been seized from the bank authorities as well as Manzoor. During the today's raid also, the CBI seized a number of important and incriminating documents from the house of Manzoor as well as the bank officials, some of whom have retired. After the completion of investigation, CBI produced challan in the court under sections 120-B, 420, 468 and 471 of RPC and section 5(2) read with section 5(1) (d) of J&K PC Act 2006. |
