Kishtwar, Jan 5: Chinar Power Projects Workers Union (CPPWU) on Monday appealed free ration to the public of Kishtwar and start the execution of Pakal Dual HE project. According to press release, Chairman Joginder Bhandari urged upon the deputy commissioner Kishtwar to issue directions to the assistant director of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) department Kishtwar to issue free ration of six months to the public of Kishtwar. He said that one side the public of remote and far flung areas of the district have already been getting free ration but another side some adjoining areas have not been issued free ration which has caused a brewing resentment among the public. He further demanded dumping of food grains; LPG and keroseen oil in district Kishtwar in view of the winter season and the forest department may also be directed to provide fire wood to the public of Kishtwar so that the public may not suffer on this account. Meanwhile, they urged upon the management of Chenab Valley Power Projects Limited to start the execution of Pakal Dual HE project so that the local unemployed youths of the district could get employment opportunity.
