Jammu, Feb 7 : Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JK AACL) today organized musical programme in connection with Basant Panchmi here at KL Saigal Hall Jammu. According to press release, Station Director Radio Kashmir, B K Samyal was the chief guest and prominent Dogri writer Dr. Lalit Magotra was guest of honour on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, B.K Samyal complemented J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages for organizing the musical event to celebrate Basant Panchmi and providing platform to the budding artists of the region. Meanwhile, Dr. Lalit Magotra said that it was a matter of pleasure that Jammu region now has become a place of festivals of literature and music and K.L Saigal Hall has become the centre of such activities. While appreciating today's programme he congratulated Brij Mohan, renowned music composer and participating artists for giving a spell bound performance. He also complimented J&K Cultural Academy and said that since last year the number and standard of Academy activities has been raised which deserves a great applause. Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary presented vote of thanks and proceedings of the programme were conducted by Reeta Rani, Assistant Editor in a buffet manner. The main attraction of today's programme were a song sung by Vanshika " EH CHARKHA TERE JISSNE GHARYA" followed by narration of the song and a chorus "SANG SANG CHALLIEN,SANG SANG DOLIEN" based on Vedas. Among others presented their Dogri songs written by prominent Dogri writers like Prof. Ram Nath Shastri, Padma Sachdeva, Gianeshwar, Virender Kesar include : Indu Bala, Sushmita Benerjee, Versha Jamwal, Vivek Mohan, Azad Fangotra, Shiv Sharma, Sonia Mehvish, Shubham were also present on the occasion. |
