Many unregistered coaching centres functional in Kmr: Div Com informs HC | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Feb 7: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir has informed the Jammu and Kashmir High Court that there are many unregistered coaching centres without facilities functional across the Valley. The Div Com in his compliance report has stated that there are 54 coaching centres in Ganderbal and none of them is registered. All of them have been given notice to get centres registered, he added. Similarly, there 101 coaching centres in south Kashmir's Anantnag district and 14 of them have already approached the office of CEO for seeking registration.In Pulwama, he said, there are 32 unregistered coaching centres and have been asked to strictly comply with the court directions.In Shopian district, he said, five out of 14 coaching centres lack facilities and have been asked to get registered immediately or face action. In Kulgam, he said, eight coaching centres were operating and five have applied for registration with CEO while three are in pipeline.Similarly, in central Kashmir's Budgam district, there are 25 coaching centres with 21 of them unregistered. "All the 25 centres have sufficient accommodation, 23 have toilet facilities, ten have heating arrangements while three have security arrangements," the Div Com said in the compliance report. In north Kashmir's Bandipora district, he said, three committees have been constituted and all the coaching centres have been asked to get registered within three days or face action. Deputy Commissioner Kupwara has stated that coaching centres have been made aware about the facilities to be provided and asked to follow instructions strictly. "Those operating in private schools have been asked to shift or closedown within 15 days." In Handwara, he said, 30 coaching centres were running with registration as per the report of Dy CEO Handwara and asked to follow the mandatory rules framed in 2010. The Divisional Commissioner has submitted all deputy commissioners have been directed that during the inspection, they should pay special attention to the infrastructure, quality of faculty as well as whether 10% seats were being reserved for the destitute and BPL students.The Divisional Commissioner has also revealed that as per the report by Directorate of School Education a number of coaching centres are bereft of facilities. "The coaching centres like Kashmir Institute of Education (KIE) Parraypora, VIPST Parraypora and Nature Coaching Centre Parraypora have been found encompassing all the facilities but the huge enrollment of the students in these centres has ruined the quality of learning," reads the report. |
