Secretary H&UD takes stock of several development projects 2/7/2015 10:55:25 PM Jammu, Feb 7 : Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department, Satesh Nehru today took stock of various on-going projects under implementation under various schemes viz; UIDSSMT, IHSDP & State Plan. He ascertained the physical progress of several important projects in Municipal Committees of Khour, Jourian & Akhnoor respectively. Nehru issued on-the-spot instructions to the concerned Engineering Wing & Executive Officers to gear up the implementation of the works to ensure timely completion of projects and achieving the targets set for the year 2014-15. He visited the new Bus Stand and under construction Town Hall at Khour and issued instructions to the Engineering Wing for completion of Bus Stand as well as town hall and making it functional on priority, besides construction of boundary wall of town hall. He also visited the identified land at Masyal village Khour for construction of Solid Waste Management Project and finalized the site for the construction of the project and the direction was issued for preparation of DPRs immediately. Further, SDM as well as Tehsildar Khour were directed to make available the approach road leading to the proposed site of Solid Waste Management Project. The Secretary also visited the site of land at Ward No. 1, Jourian wherein an amount of Rs. 5.00 lakh under MP LAD has been spent upto plinth level for the construction of community hall. He issued directions to the concerned for preparation of estimates for further funding for construction of community hall in ground floor, first floor for office accommodation and rest of the available land for construction of shopping complex under self financing scheme. At Akhnoor, he inspected the site identified for Solid Waste Management Project and existing Bus Stand. At Bus Stand Akhnoor, four shops are under construction under self financing scheme wherein provision for booking office as well as passenger shed has been kept. He was accompanied by K.L. Khajuria, Director Urban Local Bodies, Jammu and F A.
