rajouri, Feb 7: Continuing its crusade against the drug smugglers to check the menace of drug trafficking, police under the supervision / guidance of AK Attri, DIG, Rajouri-Poonch Police Range and Dr Haseeb Mughal, SSP launched massive campaign against the drug peddlers and in a similar effort police today one drug peddler during naka at Chatti Gali of Rajouri city while manhunt is on to nab his accomplice.
Police sources said, "Following a tip off, a police team at about 10 pm, a police team led by Mohd Sharief ,in-charge Rajouri City Police Post intercepted two persons in Chatti Gali of old Rajouri city for their suspicious movements."
"On thorough search of their belongings police recovered 50 bottles of prescription drug (trade name Corex), police sources said, adding, "one of accused is reportedly a son of a local journalist and also working as cameraman for a local channel."
"The accused have been identified as Irfan Qayoom @ Naddi of W- 7 and Farooq Khan of W- 8, police said, while the drugs have been seized.
Meanwhile a case against FIR No.63/2015 u/s 8/21/22 NDPS Act stands registered against the accused persons. They added that Police sources said that Farooq Khan managed to give slip to the police police has launched manhunt to arrest him. |
