Petrol Pumps imposed fine of Rs. 13,500 for violating LM laws 2/7/2015 11:22:51 PM Early Times Report anantnag, Feb 7: The Legal Metrology Department conducted surprise inspection of petrol pumps at Anantnag, Pulwama and Budgam districts and booked 05 Petrol Pumps for violating various provisions of Legal Metrology laws. A fine of Rs. 13,500/- was imposed on the defaulters. Under Legal Metrology laws every petrol pump has to check the delivery of the pump before putting it to use. In case pump issues short or excess delivery, the functions of the dispensing pump is to be stopped and the department may be informed to rectify the errors. Moreover, the petrol pump has to keep an approved 5 litre brass conical measure available at the premises with which a customer can check the delivery himself in case of doubts of accuracy of the dispensing pump.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
