Symposium organized at GCW Kathua | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Feb 7 : Government Degree College for Women today organised an inter-college symposium on the topic ''Impact of Corruption on Quality of Good Governance, here at college premises. According to press release, the students from various Degree and PG colleges of Jammu province took active part and highlighted the impact of corruption on workings of the Government. Prof. Satinder Singh, Nodal Principal GGM Science was the chief guest on the occasion whereas Dr Bhanwari Lal Gupta Principal Govt. PG College, Kathua presided over the function. Dr Janak Singh Principal GDC for women in his welcome address highlighted the ill-effects of corruption on quality of good Governance. Dr Janak released maiden issue of News Letter of the college in presence of esteemed Guests, Staff and students. The News Letter was compiled by Prof. Umesh Chander Kailoo, Prof Rakesh singh and Prof Shiv Kumar. Dr Satinder Singh congratulated Staff and students of GDC Women Kathua for releasing maiden issue of its News Letter which highlighted the various activities of the college held in 2014. He also spoke in detail about Impact of Corruption on Quality of Good Governance and emphasized upon all for eradication of corruption from sphere of administration. Dr NK Gupta Principal GDC Bani, Prof Dhian Singh and Dr Shaterpati acted as Jury members where students of various colleges of Jammu Provience. Sonum Khgajuria of GGM Science College got first position, Alka Sharma, GDC Kathua, Sapna Sharma GDCW Udhampur shared second and third position respectively. Megha Sethi of GDC Women Kathua won the consolation prize. Prof Umesh Chander Kailoo presented vote of thanks speech and appreciated the effort being done by students. |
