Early Times Report KATHUA, Feb 7: Semifinals position has been cleared with the entry of J&K Police XI and Saabi Club Hodhiarpur and J&K Police in the last four stages of the ongoing Vth Police Martyr Memorial North Zone Inter Club Twenty20 Championship at Sports Stadium, here today. In the remaining two quarterfinals of the competition, played today, J&K Police XI defeated Sandhu Club Ludhiana by 11 runs. Batting first, J&K Police set a target of 134 runs for eight wickets. Abid Nabi played fine innings of 39-ball 45 runs while Aditya Jain contributed 21-ball 29 runs. In reply, Sandhu Club completed their innings at 122 runs, courtesy three wickets haul from Abid Nabi. For his all round performance, Abid Nabi was named man of the match and presented with Rs 2100 cash prize by the organisers. In other semifinal, Saabi Club trounced Amritsar Sports Club Amritsar by five wickets. Earlier, batting first, Amritsar Club made 121 runs for seven wickets. Rohan was top scorer with 37-ball 41 runs while Abhishek contributed 15-ball 22 runs. Batting second, Saabi Club chased the total in 17.2 overs for five wickets. Bhupi played match winnings innings of 44-ball 46 runs while Naam Dev added 27 runs off just seven deliveries. For his quick-fire 27 runs innings and three wickets, Naam Dev adjudged man of the match and presented with Rs 2100 cash prize. |
