Mandi, Nov 18: Alleging poor functioning of Public Health Engineering (PHE) authorities in providing adequate water supply to people, the residents of Qazi Mohra, W- 1 of Poonch today held a massive protest against Public Health Engineering (PHE) department.
Protesters raising slogans against the concern department and district administration alleged that due to callous approach of the concerned department the normal life in the town is affected.
The protesters said that they have repeatedly brought the matter into the notice of the concerned authorities but all remained in vain.
"Even they (the locals) have staged protest many a time and also have blocked the main road to register their resentment but no action has been done in this regard till date and the water supply is still as it used to be, making people to face the worst," they said, alleging that the elected leader too have failed to get the demand of local conceded with.
Imran Mehmood, Mohd Zahid, Gulzar Ahmed and many appealed to Deputy Commissioner Poonch Mohammed Harun Malik to intervene and get the basic problems of the locals to be resolved as early as possible. |
