Poonch, Nov 18: Absenteeism is in galore at government offices in this frontier district and the effect could be gauged from the fact that several offices were found locked during a surprise visits conducted by the administrative authorities forcing authorities to place at least a score of absentee employees under suspension, sources said here today.
Taking the strong cognizance of public complaints about absenteeism, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Poonch Mohd Haroon Malik and SDM Mendhar Thakur Sher Singh constituted teams to pay surprise visits to Govt offices in the district.
Sources said, "The teams headed by Naib Tehsildar Balakote Ashfaq Ahmed Fani and Naib Tehsildar Mendhar Aftab Sheikh today conducted surprise visits to various government offices."
During these visits the teams found Agriculture Office Balakote, Coop Department Office, Sheep Husbandry Deptt Balakote and Zonal Education Office Balakote having attendance of only three employees that too outside the office as the offices were locked.
Official sources said majority of teachers were found absent from their duties during these visits. They said one teacher from KG VP, Three teachers from GMS Khanter one teacher from GMS Dhargaloon, only five employees were present in PHC Dhargaloon, two out of eight posted at GMS Hasab were present while one Class IV employee was present at CDPO Balaktoe while 7 gazetted, 3 non gazetted and 4 class IV employees were found absent at Govt HSS Dhargaloon..
"Similarly, In govt High School Drana Mohd Qasim Teacher and Rubina Kousar Lab Assistant, Govt Primary School Basooni Salima Bi Teacher, Govt Primary School Kangral Zainab Bi Teacher were found absent from the duty by the visiting team, sources said, adding, "at Govt Primary School Lanjoit Ab Sattar Teacher was found absent for the last six months and another teacher Mohd Mushtaq was also absent from the duty besides Asha Kumari, Sunita Rani, Mohd Mushtaq, Mohd Shafi and Ashfaq all teachers of Govt Girls Middle School Rehmation were also found absent from their duties for the last couple of days." "The DDC has hence forth ordered suspension of absent Govt employees and held their salary till further orders, sources said. |
