Neeraj Badyal Early Times Report samba, Nov 18: Another scam has surfaced in Industrial Corporation Association (ICA) Samba pertaining to allotment of shops. Before 2005, sources said, the previous committee had kept two permanent shops for Samba apex body in the first floor of Handloom Complex. But the present committee has sold the two shops. The Handloom Department ignored the sale of the two shops. "The Deputy Director visited the Handloom Complex and meet ICA manager few days ago. So far, however, no action has been taken against the erring officials," sources said. Sources said on May 6, 2005, the present committee members changed the title of the bank account in the name of Manager of Industrial Co-Operative Association "so that money could come easily." "It was done by the apex committee members for allotting shops in Handloom Complex. But the department concerned did not take any action against the apex body members (ICA) Samba," said Vikesh Amba, a Samba resident. It is alleged that the department is reluctant to take action against the committee members because the Manager of ICA Samba is a relative of Industries Minister. "Chairman of Samba apex committee, managing director and manager of the ICA were involved in the shop allotment scandal," said Gambir Singh, general secretary Congress's labour cell. "We demand that government must order an enquiry against the apex committee members who are involved in this scandal," Singh added. Subash Chander, the Deputy Director Handloom, said, "We visited the complex some days ago and discussed the issue with manager of the apex body. We will submit a report to the higher authorities soon." |
