Jammu, Nov 18: The Excise Department Jammu has tightened its noose on violators of the various provisions of the J&K Excise Act in entire Jammu division.
Under the active supervision of the Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu Mohammed Shahid Saleem, the excise team under the command of excise and taxation officer, city excise range south Nayeem-ur-Rehman Mughal raided the Deoli, Makhanpur, Salehar, Tarachak, Joian, Sheikhupura, Shibuchak, Rehal, Kreil, Manhasa and Kothey Bulandae areas of Tehsil R.S. Pura and Bishnah. During course of raids one person namely Ayodhya Devi w/o Late Bachan Lal caste Sansi R/o Joian was arrested and booked under section 48 of J&K Excise Act. Besides this about 300 kgs of lahan and 5 bottles of illicit liquor which is highly injurious to health was recovered from the state land and destroyed on spot. |
