Overloading goes unabated in Mandi, courtesy police’s alleged involvement

Poonch, Nov 18: Although traffic police and executive police is claiming to provide neat and clean transport system, but these assertions of the police prove baseless and hollow, as the owners of TATA SUMOs, Auto rickshaws and all mini buses and buses in Mandi are continuing with over loading. According to the sources the taxis moving from Mandi to Salonia, Mandi to Fatehpur, Mandi to Arai,andi to Barachar and many other locals routs of Mandi are full of passengers.
Locals informed Early Times that many times they have approached SHO Mandi in this regard, but due to unknown reasons he is not taking any action till now. They said the SHO is looking involved in overload having some undue interests, which may cause many accidents.
Many senior citizens of Mandi tehsil allegedly said that since the sitting SHO is deployed in Mandi, the overloading, crimes and many evils born in Mandi tehsil.
Locals said the SHO has some secret unknown interests with the transporters so he is not taking any action against law breakers.
Mohd Asgar, Ghulam Sarwar and many others appealed to SSP Poonch Jatindar Singh Johar to take strict action. People further said the traffic police is not seen in Mandi which is also a big cause for overloading.
They said the DTI is deploying the constable in Mandi tehsil on the regional bases. They said the traffic police belonging to Mandi tehsil are deployed in Mandi who are doing their personal works and only hold nakas once in a month for monthly entry.
They also appealed to SSP traffic Jammu to conduct inquiry and take strong action against involved employees.
