Kishtwar, July 15: In a glaring example of favoritism, nepotism and mismanagement in Education Department, Kishtwar; the attachment of teachers and masters in violation of rules and regulations, Chief Education Officer (CEO), Kishtwar, Rajinder Kumar has ordered the attachment of 11 teachers/masters from rural schools to schools close to city areas including Government Middle School, Sarkoot, which has 40 students, most of whom serve as domestic helpers in the houses of teachers and other government officers.
As per the details available with Early Times, the CEO ordered the attachment of two teachers namely Anju Devi (ReT) general line from Primary School Bagana in Nagsini zone allegedly on verbal directions and Rajesh Kumar, a teacher, from Primary School Khattan. The CEO first attached Rajesh Kumar with Zonal Education Officer, Kishtwar, and later, vide order No CEO/K/14/2529-60 dated 11-06-2014 attached him with GMS Sarkoot on need basis while actually there is no need of attaching any teacher on need basis in the school as it has staff strength of 22 masters/teachers for 40 students. The number is quite high as compared to the schools in rural areas of Kishtwar District where there were 4-5 teachers for over 300 students. These schools were particularly in Dachhan, Marwah, Warwan, Padder and Nagsini areas of the District.
