JAMMU, July 15: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today conducted special drive agasint food establishments in various parts of the city. Municipal Veterinary Officer, Dr Zafar Iqbal along with field staff on the directions of Commissioner, JMC, Kiran Wattal conducted a drive in Jewel, Indira Chowk, Gandhi Nagar and Shastri Nagar areas.During surprise checking of different shops, 10 kgs of polythene was seized while visiting Shastri Nagar area, one sweet shop namely Parbhat Sweets was inspected and it was found that the sweets were stored in plastic containers and unhygienic condition which is not fit for human consumption. A fine to the tune of Rs 4500 has been realized from the defaulters. The drive will remain continue in near future against all the food establishments/sweet Shops running in the market are strictly warned and directed to ensure the supply of good quality of sweets especially on the eve of Amarnath Yatra and Ramzan and not to store their sweets in plastic containers. |
