KPs appeal PM Modi to redress problems of community | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 15: Urging Prime Minister to redress the problems being faced by the migrant Kashmiri Pandits in a meeting held today at Jagti under the leadership of Pintoo ji, the members welcomed the budget passed by the Union Government and termed Rs 500 crore sanctioned for the betterment of KP community as a welcome step. The meeting with one voice appealed the PM to upgrade the living standard of KPs at their present places and build confidence building measures among the KPs. Since, three years Jagti inmates had been deprived of fundamental rights. It was unanimously stressed on the central Government to find a solution to the burning problem of 16 hrs of power cut at Jagti. The meeting demanded that corpus fund of Rs 5 crore being provided by the government should be enhanced up to the tune of Rs 10 crore for medical health facilities and the applying procedure should be simplified to avail the benefits for the purpose of treatment of the patients and implementation of insurance scheme to KPs on minimum premium. The meeting further stressed that Relief should be enhanced to Rs 15000 per month keeping in view the present market hikes, as the meager source of relief being provided presently does not suffice the day to day needs. |
