The VHP has decided to approach the higher ups in the Government with the plea that majority of people of this region neither read nor write Urdu and hence the same be not be used formaintaining Revenue records. The VHP according to sources said that Urdu being an outside language has been thrusted on the people of this region by the rulers even after the independence. He said thousands kanals of the land in other areas of region is being grabbed by musclemen in connivance of Revenue Department officials by mutating records and this has led to a lot of public resentment. Dr Dubey said in this region majority of People are neither knowing nor interested in reading Urdu so why an outside language be thrusted on them which was brought into India by Afghanistan and Mughals. Bajrang Dal has already taken up the issue with the intellectuals of Jammu region and keeping in view land grabbing and mutating of revenue records, the BD has decided to organise a seminar soon to mobilise public opinion said Rakesh Sharma convener BD He said BD will also organise public meetings involve youth in the Andolan that may be launched for this purpose soon. |
