Jammu, Aug 17: Peoples Democratic Party candidate for Gandhi Nagar Assembly segment, Amrik singh Reen today conducted a door to door campaign at Sainik Colony. During his campaign, he observed that Government has totally failed to develop these areas as people were facing manifold problems. The Reen observed that people were facing several problems in the absence of basic amenities. Reen said that Sainik Colony has been reeling under acute power crisis during the past several days due to the neglecting attitude of the concerned authorities. He said that the Power Development Department has been resorting to unscheduled and frequent power cuts despite the fact that the inhabitants of the area have been regularly paying the power tariff. Residents of the colony told Reen that besides unscheduled power cuts the inhabitants of the area are even subjected to fluctuations, which pose threat of damaging electronic gadgets, They said that notwithstanding the tall claims of the Power Development Department, nobody is bothered even to listen the grievances of the people as none in the department attends to the call of the inhabitants regarding restoration of damages to the transformers or the distribution lines. Reen was accompanied by Surjeet Kour, Varinder Singh Sonu, Harmeet Singh, Sushila Jamwal, Capt Ranjeet Singh Jasrotia, Rajinder Singh Rajji, Dr R D Sharma, Parvesh Bali, Guatam Gupta, Sandhaya Mehta and others. |
