BJP foils Lal Singh's attempt to hijack Kathua rally | | | Sanjay Pathak KATHUA, Aug 17: Efforts of Choudhary Lal Singh to hijack Kathua rally BJP received a severe jolt when general secretary of state unit of the party, Ashok Koul made it clear to Choudhary Lal Singh that August 25 function at Kathua is purely a BJP's event. National president of BJP, Amit Shah is visiting Kathua on August 25 and in the function Choudhary Lal Singh would embrace Saffronism. Lal Singh has been giving an impression across Kathua district that August 25 function was his personal event and state unit of BJP had nothing to do with that function. Sources said that Kathua district unit of BJP had registered its protest against the way Lal Singh was trying to hijack the important event of the party. Kathua district unit had told state leadership that they would be left with no other option but to boycott Amit Shah's rally. Due to resentment shown by the district unit, Ashok Koul rushed to Kathua and convened a closed door meeting with party workers in which he told the workers that any individual would not be allowed to hijack the party. He assured that function would be purely a BJP event. Later he convened meeting of BJP workers of Kathua at Jammu also in which Choudhary Lal Singh was also present. In the meeting, Koul made it clear before Lal Singh that August 25 rally was purely a BJP function in which Choudhary Lal Singh along with his supporters would join the party. |
