Rajouri village caught in Pak fire | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Aug 17: Mangalar village in Rajouri district was caught in unprovoked firing by the Pakistan army that began on the Line of Control (LoC) in Hamirpur (Poonch) as some bullets hit the houses and the Mosque of the village. About 50 bullets hit the house of one Abdul Gyas s/o Mohd Iqbal and adjoining Mosque at Mangalnar top which is just few hundred meters away from LoC under the jurisdiction of Manjakot police station. Panic gripped the village at 9 in the morning when bullets fired by Pakistan army hit the village.Inhabitants immediately took shelter inside their houses and at safer places till the firing stopped at about 11.30 am. The bullets hit the village Mosque and the house of Abdul Gyas in its vicinity. Bullets also hit two plastic water tanks damaging them. Jammu based PRO, Defence Col Munish Mehta said that Pakistan army carried out unprovoked firing at about 8.40 am in Hamirpur sector using small and automatic weapons. He added that no loss to property or life was reported from the spot on our side and the firing was retaliated with weapons of equal caliber. |
