Jammu, Aug 17 : Employees of various Jammu and Kashmir Departments will demonstrate against the government in Kashmir Valley on August 20. "In order to mount pressure on the coalition Government, activists of State Government Employees Joint Action Committee of Jammu And Kashmir (SGEJAC) from all districts of Jammu province will be holding demonstration at Press Enclave in Srinagar on August 20," Suresh Sharma SGEJAC spokesman in a statement issued here today said. He said the employees will be leaving for 'Kashmir Chalo Prograggme' from different parts of Jammu Province. "Employees from different parts will be leaving for the Valley tomorrow while addressing the activists on the way," said Sharma. "More than 500 employees from Jammu province and equal number of employees from Kashmir under the leadership of Aijaz Ahamed Khan will participate in the demonstration," he added. The employees demands included regularization of daily wagers, adhoc, contractual and consolidated workers, removal of pay anomalies of clerical and other cadres, payment of balance Sixth Pay Commission arrears in cash, release of 10 pc DA, Implementation of Defined Pension scheme and budgetary support to the PSUs, mediclaim policy in favour of non gazetted employees of Govt, PSUs, autonomous bodies, restructuring of PSUs, qualifying service for pension at par with centre, dislocation allowance to the employees posted in rural and far-flung areas, increase in the medical allowance to Rs 1000 per month, daily wages to Rs 300 per day, reorganistion of various departments in view of increased workload and area of operation and justice to RETs in the fight against in justice. |
