Money meant for flood victims being used in "unapproved" works | Manjit Singh seeks Vigilance probe | | Vijaypur, Oct 15: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Manjit Singh today appealed Chief Secretary Iqbal Khandey to order a probe into the alleged misappropriation of money meant for flood affected people and its use in "Unapproved" works of Rural Development and R&B Department in Samba. Singh visited villages of his constituency in Vijaypur where he interacted with the people who appraised him about their problems. Manjit in a statement issued Wednesday evening alleged that the Rural Development and R&B Department have taken up works in Vijaypur and other areas which were "unapproved". According to Singh have allegedly misappropriated money meant for flood affected people of Vijaypur. "Instead of spending the amount on victims, a local politician has been misusing the money for political mileage,' he said. He demanded a probe by State Vigilance Organization to ascertain as to why the public money was diverted and used in "unapproved" works. |
