Srinagar, Oct 15: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday suspended the drug license of some of the biggest chemist shops in summer capital after an enforcement team found that the chemist was selling flood-hit commodities, an official said.
While inspecting various food establishments including provisional stores and medical shops, Health Officer Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Dr Rubeena Shaheen along with her team of food safety officers inspected Bindroo Medicate in Magarmal Bagh.

"Dr Rubeena on spot suspended the food license of the owner and has sealed the shop. Most of the medicines including baby food and other eatables of the store were found flood affected," she said.
Dr Runbeena said that she informed the Drug Controller about the issue "who rushed to the spot and got his drug license suspended." "We warn all the food business operators including pharmaceuticals to refrain from selling of any kind of flood affected daily essentials otherwise stern action will be taken against them," she said.
