reasi, Oct 15: Organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), the inter-district state level girls under-19 volleyball tournament declared open by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Shiv Kumar Gupta at Reasi today. On the opening day of the competition, Jammu and Kulgam districts won their respective matches to move into the next round. While Kulgam beat Samba, Jammu outplayed district Ganderbal in straight sets. The chief guest interacted with the participating teams and encouraged the spikers in their endevours to excel in the competition. Commanding Officer of 61 RR, Pradeep Balhara was guest of honour while Medical Superintendent Reasi, Dr Vijay Sahni was special guest in the opening function. Earlier, organising secretary of the tournament, district officer (DYSS), Dr S S Chib presented a brief note of the event.
Prominent among others present were Principal Boys HSS Reasi, MM Khajuria, Headmaster HS Kambal Danga, Romail Singh, Army Subedar, Surinder Sharma, Romesh Singh Jasrotia, Sanjeev Verma and Nadeem Bhat. |
