Coalition government betraying refugees : Reen

Jammu, October 15: Accusing National Conference-Congress coalition government with betraying refugees, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Gandhi Nagar assembly segment, Armik Singh Reen today assured the PDP, if voted to power, would ensure one time settlement of refugees.
Addressing a meeting at Gadigarh in Gandhi Nagar Assembly segment, Mr Reen regretted that except promises nothing has been done to solve long pending demands of the refugees. He said that 1947 refugees from other side of Kashmir have been agitating to get adequate compensation but their human problems were never given a serious look by the present regime.
Reminding the gathering that in 2002 and 2008 assembly elections, Congress had promised to address all issues of the 1947 refugees but these promises remained only on papers. Reiterating that PDP would take effective step for one time settle of
these refugees, Mr Reen said that PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has repeated assured to address grievances of the 1947 refugees.
Launching a scathing attack on NC-Congress regime for betraying people of Jammu and Kashmir during the last six year, Mr Reen said that except legalizing corruption this government has nothing to highlight as its achievements.
He said that during the last six this government has not initiated even a single step to address grievances of the people.
He further mentioned that promises made by NC and Congress in their elections manifestos in 2008 assembly elections remained only on papers. Harmeet Singh, Varinder Singh Sonu, Daljeet Singh and others also addressed the meeting.
