JAMMU, Oct 15-Minister for Housing, Horticulture, Culture, Youth Services and Sports, Raman Bhalla, today laid foundation stone of construction of 580 meter long barsati nallah at Pamposh Colony in Channi Rama and 6750 meter long nallah at Deeli in Sainik Colony. Both the projects would be completed with an estimated cost of Rs. 40 crore by Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA) within three months. Interacting with the locals of Pamposh Colony in Channi Rama and Deeli in Sainik Colony, the Minister asked ERA to gear up their men and machinery for timely completion of the projects. Expressing concern over the losses faced the state due to recent rains and floods, Bhalla said the government is working hard to restore the damaged infrastructure besides ensuring effective relief and rehabilitation measures. He said Urban Engineering Environmental Department, Roads and Buildings, School Education, Revenue, Relief, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Rural Development Department have been instructed to complete works of their respective departments in a speedy manner. The Minister called upon the people to cooperate with the executing agencies in smooth execution of restoration works in their respective areas. He urged upon them to personally monitor the ongoing restoration projects for better results. |
