Jammu, Oct 15: Continuing it endeavour to 'keep city clean,' Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Kiran Wattal inaugurated stray calf shed at Municipal Veterinary Complex Dogra Hall which was constructed by JMC at an estimated cost of Rs 4.97 lakh. Officers/officials of JMC including Asst Commissioners (Rev), Executive Engineers, Health Officer, Municipal Veterinary Officer, Chief Transport Officer, Asstt. Executive Engineers were present on the inauguration ceremony. In his inaugural address, Commissioner JMC Kiran Wattal apprised NGOs and Gowshala Incharges about the infrastructure being developed at Roop Nagar for sterilization of stray dogs and infrastructure for sick/injured animals which shall also be inaugurated shortly. He also thanked Deputy Commissioner, Jammu for taking keen interest in providing SPCA building at Roop Nagar to Jammu Municipal Corporation. Earlier he appealed to all the citizens of Jammu city not to let their animals free in the open areas as they can be harmed by vehicular traffic as well as they can be possible cause of accidents. Representative of various NGOs and Gow shala Incharges present on occasion have appreciated efforts of Municipal Corporation in providing healthcare infrastructure for stray animals including shed for large and small animals so as to avoid cruelty to animals. |
