Kargil development will be a priority: Mufti Social activist, educationist Haji Inayat Ali of ISK joins PDP 10/15/2014 11:43:27 PM Srinagar, Oct 15: Welcoming Haji Inayat Ali an eminent social activist and educationist from Kargil into the party, patron Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) Mufti Mohammad Sayeed recalled historic steps taken by the PDP led government to empower Kargil to give its development a much needed boost and added that the party would vigorously peruse the development agenda for Kargil region. He said this in a joining ceremony organized here in Srinagar in which Haji Inayat Ali, president of the youth wing of Islamia School Kargil today joined the Peoples Democratic Party.The new face in party folds was welcomed into the party fold by party patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and others including Party chief spokesperson, Naeem Akhtar, Molvi Imran Raza Ansari and senior leader and legislator Abdul Haq Khan who were also present.Welcoming Haji Inayat into the party, Mufti said his joining the PDP is an acknowledgement of the increasing popularity of the party in all the three regions of the state. Mufti said the party would vigorously peruse the development agenda for Kargil region along with other areas and would focus on improving connectivity of Ladakh region.He said the execution of Zojilla tunnel has been delayed but he would stress the concerned ministry to start work on this crucial project urgently and from both sides to complete it in minimum time.Mufti also said the expansion needs for Kargil town need to be tackled with understanding and compassion as the population there is feeling squeezed in a sense of flat lands. He said a land rationalisation effort will have to be made and if the PDP gets a decisive mandate in Assembly elections, this problem would be addressed on priority.Referring to significant tourism potential of Kargil district, Mufti said it has remained untapped and the infrastructure projects started by previous coalition have been abandoned. Earlier welcoming new face in the party folds Mufti Sayeed, said, "His (Haji Inayat) joining of his joining the PDP is an acknowledgement of the increasing popularity of the party in all the three regions of the state. "Haji Inayat Ali has a long association with the prestigious Islamic School, an established seminary known for religious instruction.
