Jammu, Oct 15: Satwari and Gandhi Nagar police claimed to have arrest eight criminals who were wanted in different cases. Addressing the media persons, Superintendent of Police (SP) South Rahul Malik said that a storekeeper of CAPD namely Sanji Ram complaint Satwari police that during the intervening night of October 10 and 11, some unknown thieves broke the window of the CAPD Godown at Chatha and fled away with 9 sugar bags. Following the complaint, a case was registered at Satwari Police Station and during investigation three persons were arrested. The arrested have been identified as Kamal Kumar of Chatha Mill, Bharat Bhushan, village Chatha and Chotu Kumar, of Chatha Mill. The arrested confessed their crime, he added. Meanwhile, he said that two youth have been arrested for attacking a property dealer in Raipur Satwari. He said that two persons have been arrested for allegedly attacking one Vijay Kumar alias Babbi, son of Yashpaul Sharma of Belicharan on September 18 at Raipur Satwari with sharp edged weapons. SP added that, on October 13, 2014, Gandhi Nagar police received an information through reliable sources that some persons are smuggling drugs and psychotropic substances in the society and accordingly a naka was raised by the police near cremation ground at Shastri Nagar and arrested two narcotic smugglers along with ganja. The arrested have been identified as Mumtaz Ali of Bihar, at present Trikuta Nagar and Tilak Raj alias Kaka, of Nanak Nagar, SP said, adding that on the disclosure of the accused persons one more accused namely HiraLal of Patna Bihar, at present Gangyal was arrested from Balmiki Colony along with 400 grams ganja. Search for one more narcotic smuggler namely Sanju Singh of Trikuta Nagar is going on, SP added. |
