Kishtwar, Nov 18: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Spokesperson Nayeem Akther while talking to "Early Times" said that the move of veteran National Conference leader Dr. Mehboob Beg to support PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in ensuing Assembly elections gives an acknowledgement that winds of change were blowing in favour of PDP. " Dr. Mehboob Beg is one of the veteran National Conference leaders and in fact only 2nd after Dr. Farooq Abdullah in NC hierarchy and has been his colleague since last several decades--- remain the cabinet Minister in the NC government as well as MP and his rejection of mandate in support of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed is something big" said Nayeem Akther. In a question regarding Sajjad Lone meeting with Prime Minister Narindra Modi recently, Nayeem Akther termed it as a normal meeting between the two people. "I want to make no comment on it-this is a routine meeting between the Prime Minister and the some one from the state and such meetings takes place" said Nayeem Akther. In question regarding the statement of former Army Chief and MoS in Narendra Modi Government V K Singh hinting separatist to come forward to talks, Nayeem Akther said that this is the good thing to say, added that there should be a substantive talks between the center and the separatists; similar to the one initiated by former BJP Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpaee at the level of the then Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani. "There should meaningful talks with a purpose-with a direction so that amicable solution of Jammu and Kashmir problem could be reached along with sorting of an issue with Pakistan" said Nayeem Akther. In a question regarding Chief Minister Omar Abdullah blame that PDP stalled the revocation of Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA), Nayeem Akther said that "Omar Abdullah case is like the man who quarrel with his own stones and is blaming everyone except himself." Added that he has failed to revoke the act which he (Omar) had announced to be repealed within two or three days after becoming the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and on 21st of October 2011. He said that his announcement of revocation of AFSPA in the year 2011 comes in the back drop of diverting the attention from killing of NC worker Hajji Mohammad Yousaf. He said that after the killing of Hajji Yousaf who was summoned by him at his residence to settle out some monitory benefit issues, Omar Abdullah did not look like any Chief Minister and infact look like a Clint who runs after every body for help.
He said that his own Congress party did not help him in this case (Revocation of AFSPA). He said that it was UPA government in the center as well as in the state and it speaks in efficiency of Omar Abdullah, added that PDP has no role in it and even did not figure anywhere as far as revocation of AFSPA is concerned.
