BJP candidates fail to woo voters in Kashmir
Vote for Hina, save Article 370!

Early Times Report
srinagar, Nov 18: As the polling day is coming closer the BJP candidates are realizing that winning assembly polls in Kashmir is not going to be a cake walk for them, the BJP candidate from Amira Kadal constituency Dr Hina Bhat, who had stirred the hornet's nest earlier this month by claiming that she would take up the gun if Article 370 is abrogated is making desperate attempts to woo the voters in her constituency by claiming that if they want to safeguard the Article 370 they should vote for her.
Sources told Early Times that Dr Hina who is busy in door to door campaigning these days is telling the people that she is the only person in BJP who can prevent the abrogation of the Article 370, which provides special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
"She is even telling the people that if abrogation of Article 370 is mentioned in the election manifesto of the party she would quit the party and contest as an independent candidate," sources said.
A BJP insider told Early Times that party's stand on the Article 370 is very clear and it is clearly mentioned in the party manifesto, slated to be released on Nov 20, that Art 370 needs to be debated upon. "Despite she being made to understand that Art 370 is not party's poll plank she is raising the issue again and again. The party high command has taken a serious note of it," the insider said.
He claimed if Dr Hina continues to beat around the bush she may lose her mandate from the Amira Kadal constituency and BJP can announce a new candidate.
It's not only Dr Hina who is finding it hard to woo the voters. Many BJP candidates in the Valley are sailing in the same boat as their rhetoric about party achieving its Mission 44 plus seems to be heading towards a flop show.
With just a few days left for the first phase of polling, none of the BJP candidates have been able to organize an impressive rally as people are not showing much inclination towards the party.
An analyst while talking to this newspaper said, "Dr Hina seems to have realized that people are indifferent towards BJP that is why she is raking up the issue of Article 370 again and again. She wants to remain in fray by fishing in the troubled waters."
The analyst said that BJP has not been able to field any prominent faces from Kashmir. "The candidates fielded by the BJP have no mass following and lack the skills to pull the crowds. Party has not got a single candidate who is a good orator and has the capacity to mesmerize the crowd," he added.
"The BJP's game plan to give mandate to Muslim candidates in Kashmir seems to have not worked as the party was awarded mandates to such people who are non entities," the analyst claimed.
Many people are of the opinion that BJP distributing the mandates in a haphazard manner has diluted the Modi wave in Kashmir and the contradictory statements being issued by the party leaders on Article 370 have created confusion among the masses. " Party winning any assembly seats across Kashmir is a difficult ask," opined a politician.
