Cong high command not happy with lacklustre campaign in J&K elections | Senior leaders directed to jointly take responsibilities of polls | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 18: As election scene in the state has intensified, Congress leadership ultimately awaked from deep slumber and party has decided to formulate a strategy to counter BJP's propaganda during the election campaign. Credible sources in the Congress said that party has decided to convene a meeting of its campaign committee on Wednesday evening to formulate a strategy by involving all leaders. "On the directions of party high command all senior leaders have been directed to attend the campaign committee meeting on Wednesday to formulate an effective strategy", sources said. Credible sources said that high command was not happy with the way party's campaign is going on in Jammu and Kashmir. Instead of jointly launching a campaign, most of the Congress leaders are individually involved in the campaign. Those who are at helm of the affairs in the State Congress are more concerned about victory of their own blue-eyed boys instead of ensuring victory of all party candidates. "High command has taken serious note of the lacklustre campaign being launched by the State unit so all senior leaders have been directed to jointly take the charge", sources said and added that Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad and AICC general secretary incharge J&K Ambika Soni have been asked by the high command to gear up the campaign and put responsibility on all leaders to counter BJP's campaign. Congress high command has also asked senior leaders to pacify the annoyed leaders who have decided to contest elections as rebel candidates in different Assembly segments. |
