Jammu, Nov 18: As the election campaign is going on for the first phase of the state assembly elections, indicators show that no party is going to get an absolute majority and the state is heading towards yet another hung assembly. Surveys conducted so far reveal that no party is in a position to get absolute majority. The PDP president Mehbooba Mufti said at Gander bal that the party shall form the government on its own. However, political experts do not subscribe to this. National Conference leader and candidate for Nagrota made a similar claim while addressing a rally the other day. The experts, however, believe that NC will get 10 to 3 seats. PDP show will be slightly better with 20 to 30 seats. The BJP on the other hand that dreams of getting around 44 + seats is likely to get below 20 seats. The Congress stalwart and former chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad is mostly concentrating in Chenab valley where party is facing tough competition from NC, BJP and even PDP. This belt is considered as congress belt, but if sources are to be believed, there will be surprises and overall in the state, the Congress which is divided in two groups will get between 8 to 12 seats again far below than majority. The smaller parties like CPI, Panthers, Peoples Conference, Awami Itehad, and others will also play an important role in formation of next government. So it is to be seen that which combination will form next government or it will be governor rule in the state because as per information, no single party is getting absolute majority in the state. Let us keep fingers crossed and see whether PDP Congress combination, PDP BJP or BJP NC, or none of these, it is only the matter of time which will decide the future course of action. |
