Batote, Nov 18: The Minister of State in Prime Minister's Office,Dr. Jitendra Singh today couldn't attend his election campaign rally here as his chopper couldn't land here due to "some technical reason" . The election campaign rally to be addressed by Dr.Jitendra Singh at 1pm today was foiled due to the inability of his chopper to land at Dharmoond helipad which made hundreds of BJP supporters to return dejected. He had to canvass for the BJP candidate for Ramban,Neelam Kumar Langeh. It was the second occasion this month when the rally of a national leader was foiled as on November 6, GN Azad,the leader of the opposition in Rajya Sabha couldn't attend his party's(INC's)election campaign rally due to the land slide near Chakwa bridge that day as he had remained stranded at Assar for about four hours. "Though I don't know exactly what was the reason but as his chopper kept on hovering over the Batote town for about 15 minutes so it appeared that there might be some technical reason.Perhaps the pilot couldn't locate the helipad or there was some problem in visibility or technical,"said Farooq Ahmed Khan,Retired IGP,the official spokesman of BJP. Meanwhile, the Ramban District Vice-President,INC, Vijay Gupta along with ten other senior INC workers besides former ,Chairman, Municipal Committee, Batote, Ravinder Singh, Sanjay Gupta,Beopar Mandal President were also present on the occasion. |
