Jammu, Nov 18: To expose the young children to clay modeling, Raku Pottery and Art Classes today held a special camp at its studio inviting primary standard students from Shamrock International School, Bantalab, here. Around 50 boys and girls were introduced to the basics of clay modeling in an attempt to tap them young. "The idea was to tap the talent at young as also to spread the art with sole aim to popularize it. In fact, the art helps develop creativity among the children," said director of the Raku Pottery, Bishamber Mehta. Now, with first such activity, the studio has decided to hold similar introductory camps on regular basis so as to involve more and more young children. "And, to further encourage these children, we have decided to protect the articles made by them in today's camp through fire process and then handover to the school," informed Mehta, who has retired as faculty from Institute of Music and Fine Arts (IMFA), University of Jammu. |
