ISIS trying to recruit people from India, need to ban militant group: IB writes to MHA | | | Agencies
New Delhi, Nov18: The Intelligence Bureau on Tuesday wrote a letter to the Ministry of Home Affairs seeking an immediate ban on notorious militant group– ISIS. IB in its letter to the MHA said that Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) is trying to spread its wings in India and preparing to recruit many people from here.The letter by the IB came days after some reports claimed that Islamic State flag has been unfurled thrice in Jammu and Kashmir's capital city Srinagar. Lieutenant General Subrata Saha, General Officer Commanding, Chinar Corps had earlier said that ISIS is capable of attracting a large number of volunteers which can pose serious threat to India. There were also reports that the militants group has been recruiting youths from states like Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra and Jammu and Kashmir to fight in Iraq, Syria and other places in the Middle East. As per reports, over hundred youths may have joined the jihadist militant group as of now and the terror group Indian Mujahideen may be involved in recruiting men from India. |
